Faculty Tip-Sheets & Surveys

One-Button Recording Unit (FSC 1502)

A tip-sheet for the One-Button studio in FSC 1502 (previously available in FSC 3003) is available here. Please contact Derek Dong at derek.dong@ubc.ca to book the studio, and please note that you
may need a separate booking for the room in which you plan to use the
studio.

AV System and General Learning Spaces

The TLS Team has completed tip-sheets for using the AV systems in FSC 1005 and 1221, and for teaching in the general learning spaces in the Forest Sciences Centre and CAWP. A tip-sheet for using the mobile AV system for FSC 1001 has also been updated.

Central Technical Updates

AV System Requests for FSC 1001/1003/1005/1221

A reminder that to make use of the AV systems in FSC 1001, 1003, 1005 and 1221, request must be submitted to UBC IT. Please make sure to submit a request as early as possible (2 business days ahead) here.

Reminder for UBC Zoom Accounts

Instructors and TAs are not automatically granted UBC Zoom accounts. Please email the UBC IT Audio/Visual Helpdesk at av.helpdesk@ubc.ca with your UBC email address and the faculty/school/department. Upon approval, UBC IT will send you an email to activate the new UBC Zoom account.

 

If you are using Zoom for your Canvas courses, please ensure the default email address in Canvas matches your Zoom UBC account. Please see this link for instructions on how to update your default email in Canvas.

Consultations with the TLS Team

If your classroom is in the Forest Sciences Centre or CAWP, the TLS team will support you in the classroom AV system testing. Please get in touch with michelle.zeng@ubc.ca or forestry.tls@ubc.ca for a demonstration or dry run. Students Seeking Mask Exemptions

A centralised process for students who wish to request an exemption to the mask mandate is now available through the Centre for Accessibility, provided they meet one of the medical grounds for exemption detailed in the PHO Order.

Students seeking an accomodation should contact the Centre for Accessibility at info.accessibility@ubc.ca with their request. After their request has been reviewed, the student will be provided with a letter of accommodation tp share with faculty members teaching courses in which they are registered.
