Potential Technical Challenges for iPadOS 18 with LockDown Browser
|
Please note that LockDown Browser (LDB) is not yet fully supported on the latest iPadOS version 18, although it remains functional on older iPad operating systems. As a result, some iPad users might encounter technical challenges with LDB, and complex question content (e.g., embedded videos from non-Canvas websites) may not function as expected.
Currently, iPads are allowed in LDB assessments by default, and iPad use cannot be disabled at the account or course level. Therefore, teaching teams may recommend students to use laptops with LDB to be safe. If a student doesn’t have access to a laptop, they could borrow one from UBC Library in advance.
If you have questions or need exam support, please contact with forestry.tls@ubc.ca.

Any UBC community member can nominate individuals or groups for the award, including self-nominations. Group nominations may also include UBC departments or units that have advanced the use of OER in teaching and learning.
To be eligible, nominees must be current faculty members who have taught a UBC credit course in the last four years, and have the support of at least one student. Faculty may be nominated as an individual and as part of a team as long as the projects they are being nominated for are distinct.
