Mid-term Check-in Survey

An automated mid-term check-in survey has been launched for the students. To use the survey, instructors can post this link to Canvas or email it to the class. The survey results for your particular course will be emailed to you during the week of Oct 17.

Academic Integrity and Plagiarism
If you have concerns about plagiarism or academic integrity with a specific student, ADS Scott Hinch (scott.hinch@ubc.ca) is your first point of contact. Additionally, UBC is in the process of building and beta-testing an academic integrity hub which provides non-punitive ways to turn an incident into more of a teachable moment. See Academic Integrity at UBC.

New TA Meeting Pod
A new TA meeting pod is now available in the FSC atrium. TAs can book a spot at one of the three tables in the pod to meet with students. Instructions for reserving the space can be found here.

Inclusive Teaching
UBC Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Technology organized resources (e.g., inclusive syllabus, microaggressions in the classroom, etc.) for inclusive teaching. Feel free to check them out here.

We organize weekly drop-in sessions on Fridays (1-2 pm) to answer teaching-related questions (e.g., Canvas, in-class live streaming and recording, etc.). Both instructors and TAs are welcome to
join

Learning Spaces Updates

Ongoing Construction Activity Near Classrooms

Project teams are working diligently to minimize construction impact when possible on the UBC Vancouver campus. Some construction work is continuing into the fall and impacting students, faculty, and staff. You may notice a higher-than-normal volume of construction projects underway on campus.

Noise Impacts during Construction
Project teams are trying to schedule noisier work and planned shutdowns outside of scheduled exams and specified events. They are unable to move all classes that are near the construction areas, due to limited classroom availability.

Project teams are doing their best to maintain service and minimize impact in your area. For specific questions or concerns, please contact the Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or your Facilities Manager.
