Central Announcements

Kaltura Cloud Migration is Complete

Thanks for your cooperation and patience as 180,000 Kaltura videos were migrated in April.

What does this mean for me?

(1) You can access and manage your Kaltura videos through the new Teaching & Learning Media Portal at learning.media.ubc.ca or via Canvas.

(2) Kaltura embedded links in Canvas will be automatically updated to reflect their new home in the cloud.

(3) Links to Kaltura
videos embedded outside of Canvas must be manually updated
by Fall, 2023.

If you have questions, feel free to contact
forestry.tls@ubc.ca. Additionally, you can
register for a Kaltura workshop, held at noon on variable dates each month.

These one-hour introductory sessions will delve into the features available in the Kaltura cloud.

Faculty Reminders

Available Software in Forestry

See the IT One Pager for a current listing for IT and related contact info.

We updated the Forestry Software list
of commonly requested software and who to ask. This list does not represent what is currently installed in the UG labs nor CBM laptops.
If there is something you need and is not on the list, email an inquiry to forestry.ithelp@ubc.ca.
Those looking to pursue Origin site licensing with a network floating license rather than node locked licensing must talk to Carl.
