TLS Workshop: Canvas Grading and Gradebook

Time: Wednesday, August 4 from 11:00 – 12:00

Open to anyone in the Faculty who would like to familiarize themselves with grading in Canvas. We will discuss briefly how to create new quizzes and assignments on Canvas, as well as explore the features within SpeedGrader and Gradebook. RSVP: click here.

TLS Workshop: Learning Analytics Tools in Canvas and Other Tools

Time: Wednesday, August 11 from 11:00 – 12:00

Several different Learning Analytic tools in Canvas will be covered during this session. We will dive into the OnTask tool and discuss how to send students personalized messages about their performance. We will also look at the Canvas Course Analytics and Quiz Statistics feature. RSVP: click here.

Central Technical Updates

MyLA Pilot Seeking Participants

The LT Hub is seeking instructors to test student dashboards in their Canvas courses using My Learning Analytics for the upcoming academic year, with the purpose of encouraging behavioural patterns that may improve academic outcomes. Learning Spaces Advisory Committee (LSAC) Facilities Update

UBC IT Audio Visual will be temporarily outfitting select General Teaching Spaces (GTS) with dedicated recording and streaming equipment for September 2021. This includes 4 rooms in the FSC: 1001, 1003, 1005, and 1221. For more information about the recording features that will be available, please click here.
