UBC Needs Assessment: Zoom for Teaching

The university is reviewing its core teaching and learning technical infrastructure. Within that, the use of Zoom for teaching and learning is being assessed.

We would like to invite you to complete this short survey.Your answers will help us better understand your needs, and how you are currently using Zoom. While you might use Zoom for other activities, the survey is specifically focused on your teaching and learning uses.

If you have questions about using Zoom for teaching in Forestry, please contact forestry.tls@ubc.ca.

Tips on Grade Submission to WorkDay

Building upon the Central grade submission guides, we’ve discovered two easier options to match or reformat the file from Canvas Gradebook to align with the Workday format. Feel free to check out the tip sheet here.

Exam Planning & Preparation Tips

There are various exam formats that teaching teams can choose from, such as in-person paper, in-person computer-based, or online via Canvas. For help with exam planning, feel free to check out the following tip-sheets.

For further questions or exam support, don’t hesitate to book a consultation or email us at forestry.tls@ubc.ca.

Exam Seating System Pilot

Having challenges in managing seating for in-person exams? UBC exam seating system can be a potential solution. The system randomly assigns seats to students when they enter the classroom, and auto-tracks attendance to help verify student info (see the picture below).

If you’d like to try it, please email forestry.tls@ubc.ca at your earliest convenience so we can set it up in advance.
