End of Term Reminders

Grades Submission Deadline

Grades for all courses this term must be submitted to the Faculty Service Centre (FSC):
(1) within 7 working days following the final exam date (grades on Canvas do not count as submitted)
(2) by April 26 for courses without final exams.
(3) by May 3 if the final exam is written on the last 2 days of the exam period.
(4) by May 3 if the final grades or grades-to-date are for graduating students. Delays will result in students unable to graduate.

Faculty Reminders

Forestry UG Computing Labs Rebuilding & Software Requests

The Forestry UG computing labs are scheduled for rebuilding, with requested teaching software from May 1 to May 7. If you have summer teaching plans, please submit this form to forestry.ithelp@ubc.ca.

Student Mental Health Resources

Here2Talk is the student mental health assistance provider. It provides 24/7 access to counselling and community referral services across phone, online chat, and mobile app for UBC students.

Additionally, students within the Faculty of Forestry are able to book a 1:1 session with our embedded counsellor, Nicole. Please direct them to call Counselling Services at 604-822-3811 and indicate that they are a Forestry student.

Teaching Funding Opportunities

Sustainability Education Fellows Program

UBC Vancouver faculty members who are leading the design of new sustainability courses and programs are invited to apply to this program. Register for the information session on April 25 here.

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Programs

– SoTL Seed Program
This program provides those interested in exploring the impact of their pedagogical choices with graduate research specialists, collegial collaborations, and limited funding. All UBC faculty and staff can apply. The deadline for applications is May 27. Click here for more info.

– SoTL Linkage Grants
These grants support the formation of interdisciplinary teams of SoTL researchers that seek to investigate fundamental teaching questions in multiple pedagogical contexts. Notices of Intent will need to be submitted by May 29. Click here for more info.

Workshops & Events

Forestry TA Mentoring & Teaching and Learning Drop-in Sessions

Time: Fridays (12 – 1 pm) | Online
We host weekly drop-in session to answer teaching and TA-related questions. Instructors and TAs are welcome to join the Zoom meeting.

UBC Celebrate Learning Week 2024

UBC’s 15th annual Celebrate Learning Week is a week-long showcase of teaching and learning at both UBC Vancouver and UBC Okanagan campuses.
