Central Technical Updates

2021W1 Canvas Course Creation

The creation of 2021W1 Canvas sites will be happening around mid-June. If instructors need support to transfer course content from previous terms, please contact Michelle Zeng (michelle.zeng@ubc.ca) to make the necessary arrangements.

OpenAthens

Beginning in early June 2021, the Library will be switching over to OpenAthens,
an identity-based access and authentication solution that replaces both the IP address and EZproxy solutions for accessing electronic journals and other licensed materials. Authorized users (such as FTE students and employees) will then be able to access resources from virtually anywhere with their CWL. See details from https://guides.library.ubc.ca/connect.
